Anglophone North School District is very proud to partner with the Canadian Museum for Human Rights to present the impactful Witness Blanket Exhibit. This is the first time the exhibit has visited Eastern Canada.
The following is found on the website www.witnessblanket.ca : “Inspired by a woven blanket, the Witness Blanket is a large-scale work of art. It contains hundreds of items reclaimed from residential schools, churches, government buildings and traditional and cultural structures from across Canada.”
Hundreds of ASD-N students have visited the exhibit over recent days.
Now it will be open for the public to visit on Wednesday, November 6th, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Miramichi Valley High School Mezzanine in Miramichi. Please use the Gym Entrance. Admission is free.
All are welcome to visit this moving and historical exhibit.

On Monday, September 30th, ASD-N will observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This is an important time to reflect on our shared history and honor the survivors of residential schools, their families, and the Indigenous communities affected. We encourage all staff, students, and families to take time on this day to learn and participate in activities that promote understanding and healing.
